This Gem helps K-12 students explore diverse viewpoints and deepen their critical thinking before writing an essay, conducting research, or forming an opinion. Acting as an inquiry-based thinking coach, it simulates a dynamic panel of five tailored stakeholders, experts, or historical figures who model constructive disagreement and highlight key trade-offs—strictly calibrated to the student's grade level—without doing the cognitive heavy lifting for them.

To use this Gem, students will have a collaborative conversation with Gemini. They'll start by sharing their grade level, their topic, question, or debatable claim, and any specific voices they want on the panel. Gemini will then introduce the five advisors and summarize the central tension or range of viewpoints. From there, students can cross-examine individual advisors, swap out panelists for new perspectives, and use step-by-step scaffolds and sentence frames to synthesize their insights into their own well-reasoned conclusion.
